Jason teaches current and future business leaders to build and deliver compelling stories, from data-driven presentations with the C-suite to concise elevator pitches. He has spent over 15 years teaching and coaching following the earlier chapters of his career in strategy consulting, marketing, finance, and technology with McKinsey & Company, ExxonMobil, and John Deere.
Currently serving as a full-time Professor of Practice in Management and the Director of Business Presentation Education at Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business, Jason also teaches executive education courses within both Cox and SMU Continuing & Professional Education. He is a regular instructor for the Southwest Graduate School of Banking in both its flagship graduate program and Commercial Lending School. Jason holds an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and a BBA from Texas Tech University.
Whether teaching Executive MBAs in the classroom or delivering training for corporate clients, Jason delivers highly interactive programming, incorporating storytelling with data to give participants ready-to-use tools and increased confidence for communicating in any business situation. His corporate audiences have included executive, mid-level, and early-career leaders from a range of industries such as technology, banking, transportation, and defense. As the lead business communications faculty member for SMU Cox’s graduate programs, Jason’s students include Executive, Professional, and Online MBA’s from virtually every business function and industry. He has also coached numerous winning MBA case competition teams and co-authored Case In Point: Case Competition, a guide to creating strategy presentations for business pitch competitions and interviews.
